Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in Battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and you, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God,
cast into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits,
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of our souls.
Amen.

Pope Leo XIII composed this prayer, along with another longer prayer of exorcism, after he had a vision of the battle between Good and evil.
Saint Michael the Archangel is referenced in Revelations 12 as leading an Army of Heavenly Angels in victory over the powers of evil.
