Actual kickoff is at 7:40 PM ET (4:40 PM PT).
NBC often includes internet coverage through nbcsports.com, including marching band half-time shows not shown on the regular broadcast, and full-game replays available later. NBC also indicates that they will begin pregame broadcast on their Versus cable network a half-hour before the regular broadcast. Meanwhile, the radio broadcast also should include robust pregame coverage, so tune in early if you are listening on the radio.
Notre Dame vs. USC 2011 will be the 83rd meeting between the two schools, in a series Notre Dame leads 43-34-5.
The series began in 1926 during the Knute Rockne era, and has been played every year since, except for three years during the resource rationing and wholesale call to military service required by World War II. More recently, across a 13-year time-span from 1982 through 1995, Notre Dame beat Southern Cal 12 times and tied them once. After the two teams split the next six games from 1996 through 2001, Southern Cal won seven if the next eight games (with the Bush-Push game having no winner in the record books) before Notre Dame beat the Trojans in the Los Angeles Memorial Colisuem in 2010.
This year's contest is the first night game at Notre Dame Stadium since 1990, and the latest kickoff time ever in the Notre Dame-Southern Cal series.
